Maddy Porter Named to All-MAC First Team, Sets Multiple Program Records
Eastern Michigan goalkeeper Maddy Porter (Montrose, N.Y./Hendrick Hudson) continues to make history, earning All-MAC First Team honors for the first time in her career after being named to the second team as a freshman. The 2024 MAC Freshman of the Year becomes just the fourth Eagle in program history to earn a first-team selection.
A force in the cage and on the field, Porter set a program-record 170 saves this season—38 more than last year—while finishing the regular season with a .494 save percentage and 11.06 goals allowed per game. She ranked 3rd, 2nd, and 4th in the MAC and 10th, 6th, and 33rd nationally in those categories, respectively.
Dominant beyond the crease, Porter led the entire NCAA in ground balls for the second straight year, totaling 70, and added 12 caused turnovers. She opened the season with an 18-save performance against San Diego State, the 13th-highest single-game total in the nation this year.
Maddy also excelled in the classroom, earning 2025 All-MAC Academic Honors, further solidifying her as one of the top all-around student-athletes in the conference.
With over 300 career saves and 100+ ground balls, Porter is now the first player in EMU history to hit both milestones.
